Whether you embrace it or not, everyone gets old. French street artist JR seeks to highlight, if not celebrate the idea of aging in his newest poster-pasting project, “Wrinkles of the City.” The concept and execution behind the project are simple: to reflect the aging process by pasting large prints on the walls of old buildings. The subject of these prints are the body parts that so frequently ridge with age: eyes, hands, fingers, etc. JR accomplished this with an acute eye for dated architecture, as the ripples of cobblestones, exposed bricks and bulging limestone chunks are made to play the ‘wrinkles’ of Berlin.
